Here we are at our annual Leeds farm Pumpkin Patch visit. We love Leeds farm, not only because they are one of the funnest Pumpkin Patch's around, but because for the last couple of years they have hosted an Autism Fall festival. All Autistic children and their families can get in free 8-10 am, on the day of the festival, which is two hours before their normal admission. They even give the kids a coupon for a free small-size pumpkin, and the family a ticket for a free hay ride. They have booths set up and free snacks. We really appreciate their compassion and giving to children with Autism. Leeds farm is so fun! Every year it seems like they have set up more things to do. These are some of the activities they had set up this year:
Hay barn with slides and climbing
Go cart track with pedal powered go-carts
A burlap bag slide going down a hill
Giant tubes you can get into and move around a field
Big yellow "jumping thing"
Big person and little person zip line
Giant "sand box" filled with dried yellow corn instead (one of my kid's faves)
Corn maze
Small hay mazes for the little kids
Farm animals including goats, pigs, cows, a "rabbit village", pony, etc.. (some can be fed and petted)
Banana train ride, pulled by a tractor (another fave for my kids)
20 minute hay ride into the woods
And of course pumpkins!
All the activities except for the 20 minute hay ride are included in the price of admission. So much fun! You can see pictures of us participating in many of these activities. I'm particularly proud of the darling family picture where Juliet has her finger up her nose and Cole has his finger in his mouth. Enjoy.
